    Senior Strategist, East Division - Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services

    Professional history
    As a Senior Strategist with Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services, Julie works with families on understanding money, values and philanthropic intent in the family wealth context and the dynamic overlap of five types of capital—human capital, intellectual capital, social capital, foundational capital, and financial capital. Family and Philanthropy Advisory is a thought partner to advisors and their exceptional client families on wealth transition, family governance, and philanthropy as families seek guidance on cohesive dialogue between generations to perpetuate their legacy.

    Prior to joining UBS Financial Services in 2018, Julie was with Foundation Source, a provider of comprehensive support services for private foundations for nearly a decade. While there, she was responsible for understanding the needs and identifying philanthropic solutions for ultra-high net worth clients and the Private Wealth Advisors who serve them. Julie worked with hundreds of clients to think about the impact of their philanthropy on their families and communities. Before Foundation Source, Julie worked for a boutique consulting firm that specialized in corporate philanthropy, and spent several years in business development for Texas Monthly and New York Magazine.

    Education
    Julie graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Marketing and holds a Fellowship in Charitable Estate Planning from the Charitable Estate Planning Institute. She is an active volunteer with many local community organizations, and lives in Stamford, CT with her husband and two sons.

    Senior Strategist, Northeast Region - Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services

    Professional History
    As part of the UBS Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services team, Elizabeth serves as a thought partner to advisors and their client families on wealth transition, family governance, and philanthropy as families seek guidance on cohesive dialogue between generations to perpetuate their legacy.

    Prior to joining UBS, Elizabeth served in a dual capacity as President of the Neuberger Berman Foundation and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility from 2012 to 2019, leading all aspects of Neuberger Berman’s global philanthropic efforts, with a focus on education, workforce development and employee engagement. In 2018 she launched the firm’s client Philanthropic Advisory Services practice and co-chaired the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisory committee from 2012 to 2016. She also served as a board member of the Neuberger Berman Foundation from 2009 – 2019.

    Prior to this, Elizabeth worked at Lehman Brothers as a Senior Vice President of Corporate Philanthropy with a focus on the arts and strategic community partnerships. Before this, Elizabeth spent ten years at HSBC North America, where she served in various leadership roles in strategic planning; internal consulting; and community and philanthropic services. Elizabeth began her career in the audit group at Coopers & Lybrand LLP as a Certified Public Accountant. 

    Community Leadership
    Elizabeth serves as Vice Chair of the New York City Youth Board, which advises the Department of Youth and Community Development on its programs. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of Enterprise Community Partners New York Advisory Board, whose mission is helping families find safe, affordable housing, connected to opportunity.

    Education

    Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Master in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Liz is also Series 7 and 63 licensed.

    Associate Tax Efficiency Planning Strategist

    Sarah works with ultra-high net worth clients and their businesses to assist them in navigating federal, state and local tax issues and minimizing tax liabilities.

    Professional History
    Prior to joining UBS, Sarah worked as a Senior Tax Associate at Bain Capital, LP, where she focused on international tax compliance and cross-border tax planning. Sarah also worked as a Senior Consultant at
    Deloitte, where she delivered tax advisory services to hedge funds and private equity clients.

    Education
    Sarah earned a B.S. from Fordham University, a J.D. from Roger
    Williams University School of Law, and an LL.M. (Taxation) from Boston
    University School of Law.
